Is she Femmine?
In this project, I explore the complex relationship between women and femininity. How it is shaped by societal expectations and how it is experienced and expressed individually. Titled "Is She Feminine?", this narrative series contrasts two women: one embodying the traditional ideals of femininity, and the other rejecting these norms with a more relaxed, "tomboyish" approach. Through their daily rituals of getting ready, doing their hair, applying makeup (or choosing not to), and putting on shoes. I examine how these seemingly simple acts are often loaded with cultural significance.
By following these women through these intimate moments of self-preparation, I seek to capture the tension between conformity and authenticity. I invite the viewer to confront the question: Who is truly feminine? This final gaze is a challenge to the viewer to reflect on their own biases and definitions of femininity, whether it’s defined by outward appearance, personal expression, or a deeper, internal connection to one’s identity.
I ask you while viewing the work to ask yourself what makes them different because aren’t they both beautiful.
Their femininity is not for you to decide.

Hidden Beneath The Surface
Hidden Beneath the Surface explores the feelings and inner torture we keep hidden inside ourselves. I want to give a voice to those who hide away their feelings due to the fear of rejection or being framed by stereotypes and misrepresentation. Every person puts on a mask when they leave the comfort of their own home, or even their own room, constantly hiding their insecurities, fears, and emotions from the outside world. With these images, I want to remove the mask and open up what is kept hidden; I am trying to normalize the things that are kept deep below the surface, the things that are let out when alone in the dark of night. That feeling of suffocating, the unbearable pain in your chest, the scream with no sound, all bubbling up, coming to the surface, leaving us hoping and waiting for anyone to pull us out of the darkness that has now engulfed everything.
